Deceptive cadence - Chordal progression dominant (V) to a chord other than the expected tonic.
Front Action Valves - Valve caps face towards the front of the instrument.
Larghetto - A little faster than Largo
Maestoso - Majestically.
Mouthpiece - A cup shaped piece of metal that helps the instrument to produce sound when lips are vibrated against it. In the case of a woodwind mouthpiece it is a piece of plastic that holds the reed in place.
Pencilina - A one of a kind electric ten stringed collision of the hammer dulcimer, slide guitar, koto and fretless bass with six pickups of varied types. It is struck with sticks, plucked and bowed.
Quasi - Almost. Used with other terms, e.g. quasi madrigal, almost or as if a madrigal.
Red Brass - A brass with a very high copper content, approximately 90% copper and 10% zinc. Also see Brass.
Subdominant - The fourth degree of the major or minor scale. Also, the name of the triad built on the fourth degree of the scale, indicated by IV in a major key and by iv in a minor key.
Tarogato - woodwind instrument with a reed, similar to an oboe; 30-40cm; dark, penetrating tone.
